The Bus Monitor provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum during the school year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises students getting on and off the bus to ensure their safety. Daily cleans the interior of the bus and washes windows as needed. Supervises the students while riding the bus to ensure their safety. While riding the bus, all of the monitors's attention should be directed towards keeping students in their seats and when required buckled using the provided safety harnesses/belts. Is aware of the requirements of transporting wheelchair-bound students if necessary. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus. Keeps assigned bus clean. Discharges students only at authorized stops and transports only authorized students. Assists the bus driver when needed. Attend scheduled department meetings. Attendance in accordance with established days/hours of work. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Property Services or designee
EXPERIENCE
Prior aide experiences a plus Ability to speak and communicate with bus driver and students
List Specific Skills And/Or Abilities Required:
Requires a valid State Driver's license. Working knowledge: Sufficient familiarity with the subject to know basic principles and terminology and to understand and solve simple problems.

SALARY:
As per the Master Agreement between the Burlington Board of School Commissioners and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This is a hourly position paid Bi-Weekly
SHIFTS AVAILABLE
Part Time Morning
  • Maximum 3.0 hours per day
  • 6:30 am
  • 9:30 am Part Time Afternoon
  • Maximum 4.0 hours per day
  • 1:30 pm
  • 4:30 pm
