Job Description
Student Life Counselor
Communicate with students, supervisors, parents, and school staff using American Sign Language (ASL) and written English.
Ensure a healthy, safe and secure environment.
Maintain required communication logs and documentation of student behavior.
May work as back-fill Student Life Counselor in residential settings.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Residential Services.
Please provide your resume, cover letter and at least 3 professional references. Must be able to pass federal and state criminal background screening.
Remote/Telework options are not available for this position.
This position is in the bargaining unit represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE). For membership questions, contact the local Union Representative.

About the position:
CDHY/WSD
is seeking candidates to fill one or more Student Life Counselor- Transportation Monitor positions.
NOTE:
This position is eligible for shift premium pay at an additional $2.50 per hour when the regular or temporary scheduled work includes hours after 6:00 pm and before 6:00 am where no overtime schedule change pay, or callback compensation is received. Graveyard positions receive full shift premium pay for all hours worked. The Student Life Counselor position also receives a 5% assignment pay in addition to base salary and shift premium pay.EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Supervise students during times of transportation.Communicate with students, supervisors, parents, and school staff using American Sign Language (ASL) and written English.

Salary Information:
Salary is set using the State of Washington General government pay scales (Range 40).Vacation and sick leave accrual, paid holidays, personal holiday, personal leave day, and overtime eligible after 40 hours of work in a week.
