Job Description

Join Kenai Backcountry Adventures in Seward, Alaska as a Rafting Guide for the summer season and help guests experience one of Alaska's most dynamic river environments. We are hiring immediately and looking for a capable, dependable guide who can step into a fast-moving operation, deliver excellent guest experiences, and handle the realities of guiding on cold, silty, glacial river systems. Experience on Alaska glacial braided rivers is a huge plus.

Housing may be available or assistance may be provided depending on timing and availability Kenai Backcountry Adventures is a small, professional Alaska adventure company based in Seward. Our team guides river, glacier, hiking, backpacking, and remote wilderness experiences throughout Southcentral Alaska. We value safety, preparation, professionalism, teamwork, guest service, and guides who take pride in doing the work well. Rafting Guides are responsible for leading commercial river trips, conducting safety briefings, managing guests on the water, reading changing river conditions, rigging and maintaining equipment, assisting with shuttles and logistics, and helping keep the operation ready each day. This role requires strong judgment, clear communication, physical capability, and a calm, guest-focused attitude. This is a great fit for someone who wants to guide in Alaska, work hard, and be part of a serious field operation in one of the most beautiful places in the state. Prior commercial rafting experience is required or strongly preferred, and candidates with Swiftwater Rescue, Wilderness First Responder, EMT, Alaska guiding experience, trailer driving experience, or glacial braided river experience will be especially competitive.
