Department Name Campus Recreation and Wellness Funding Type Non-Federal Work Study Position Summary The purpose of the Fitness Center Floor Attendant position is to provide a clean, safe, and friendly workout environment for the T-Rec Fitness Center users. This position will report directly to the Fitness Center Director. Job Duties and Responsibilities Ensure a safe workout environment through constant circulation of the floor. Be available to set up a user on any piece of equipment or machine properly and instruct/demonstrate proper use. Be available to properly provide spotting for users if needed. Keep the fitness floor clean and make sure all weights are racked and in their proper place. Make sure weight benches and equipment remain or are returned to the proper location. Enforce all policies and procedures in a professional manner. Assist in cleaning equipment as users get on and off. Execute emergency procedures when necessary (fire, tornado, etc.) Assist in conducting hourly counts in the weight room area, mezzanine, and cardio room area. Assist in conducting inspections for fitness areas and properly document any issues or concerns. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance assignments on equipment. Remain up to date on current programs and events related to the Fitness Center. Assist campus recreation staff with special events. Attend all mandatory regularly scheduled meetings. Applicants Requirements:
Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or received 1 month after hire date). Completion of Vector Training (30 days after hire date). Full or part-time student in good academic standing. Willing to work weekdays and weekends. Effective communication skills and the ability to handle confrontation in a confident and professional manner.
Qualifications:
Experience and interest in the fitness/wellness field. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to follow instructions. Ability to take initiative and work individually. Ability to work in group settings.
