Recreation Aide & Recreation Assistant - Youth Camps (Part-time, Temporary, Non-benefited)

The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Recreation Aide & Recreation Assistant - Youth Camps (part-time, temporary, non-benefited). This position serves at the discretion of the department director. The position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, with hours varying between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler. We are seeking Recreation Assistants who can plan and supervise intersession camps, as well as Recreation Aides who can lead engaging games and activities for children ages 5-12. Successful applicants will be energetic, creative, and organized, with the ability to exercise sound independent judgment during work hours. • Some High School; no experience required; and
• A First Aid/CPR Certification within 90 days of employment; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Recreation Assistant- $21.56 per hour Minimum Qualifications
• Some High School; and
• 1 year of experience in a recreation environment; and
• A First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of employment; and
• A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Desired Qualifications
• Excellent Interpersonal skills
• Experience working with youth
• Proficient in Microsoft 365
• Experience with recreation management registration software The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment.
