DRUG FREE WORKPLACE
Applicants for employment and volunteer opportunities should be aware of the City of Sierra Vista's policies concerning the use of drugs and alcohol. These policies have not been altered by the passage of proposition 207. The use of recreational marijuana is a violation of the City's Drug Free Workplace Policy. All positions within the City are required to submit to a pre-employment drug test. A positive result for drugs tested under the policy, including recreational marijuana, may be grounds for withdrawal of an offer of employment or volunteer opportunity. The examination process may vary if determined necessary. Definition & Essential Functions Under general supervision of the Sports Supervisor and/or Sports Coordinator, duties can include but are not limited to lining and caring for sports fields (baseball, soccer, softball, other); supporting and/or running youth and adult sports and camp programs, running city operated concession stands, event set-up/tear-down, and general support.

Open and close facilities. Setting up for program activities and serving as aide to facilitate and execute programs and activities. Perform unskilled clerical work and other duties relating to conducting programs. Picks up trash and debris, and assists in the basic maintenance of grounds and equipment; maintains sports fields (i.e., lining, dragging and marking) to prepare for play and special events; clean bleachers, restrooms, and periphery. Set up and maintain recreation facilities for special events and scheduled programs. Basic maintenance includes but not limited to: sweeping/mopping floors, checking and restocking restrooms, cleaning and arranging equipment. Assisting staff by making needed equipment available and monitoring use. Observing and/or participating in activities. Stocking and organizing a neat work area Preparing food as specified Maintaining clean and sanitary concession equipment and food preparation area and cleaning concession stand on a daily basis Handling monies in operation of city programs including accurately collecting money for products purchased and providing correct change Assisting in maintaining order in compliance with established rules. Providing routine information on facility rules and activities to participants and the general public. Other duties as assigned.

Meet and deal tactfully and effectively with the public Working with youth and adults Perform simple mathematical calculations and perform multiple duties simultaneously Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Establish and maintain effective working relationships Follow a daily, weekly, monthly schedule as assigned or needed Track hours and days of duties and work performed as needed or scheduled
Abilities:
Physical movement Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds frequently. Read, write, understand simple math, schedules, and direction Position typically requires: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, running, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Qualifications Applicants must be age sixteen (16) years or older. High School Diploma or GED if not a minor. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain a Food handlers certification within three months of hire Position requires working flexible hours and availability for weekend, evening and holiday work.
Preferred Qualifications:
First Aid and CPR certification Knowledge of sports
