In this exciting role, you will inspire and guide children through immersive VR experiences and engaging STEM activities, fostering curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. As a vital part of our camp community, you will create a safe, inclusive, and energetic environment where children can explore cutting-edge technology while developing essential skills. This paid position offers an incredible opportunity to combine your passion for education, technology, and working with children in a vibrant summer setting. Responsibilities Lead and facilitate engaging VR and STEM activities tailored to various age groups, ensuring all participants are actively involved and motivated. Maintain a safe and positive environment by supervising children during all camp activities, managing behavior, and implementing classroom management strategies. Provide first aid when necessary, following safety protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns promptly. Support children with diverse needs by applying inclusive teaching methods and understanding special education considerations. Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan daily schedules, organize camp events, and ensure smooth transitions between activities. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding camper progress, behavior, or safety concerns as needed. Uphold all camp policies related to childcare, early childhood education standards, and child development best practices. Skills Strong classroom management skills to maintain discipline while encouraging creativity and exploration. Experience in teaching or tutoring children in STEM subjects or related areas such as robotics, coding, or science experiments. Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education techniques to support age-appropriate learning. Ability to work effectively with children of various backgrounds, including those requiring special education accommodations. Certification in first aid and CPR to ensure safety during all camp activities. Experience in childcare settings such as daycare, babysitting, or camp environments is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members; experience in theater or sports coaching is a plus for engaging diverse groups.
