Activity Coordinator for ADHC Huntington Park, CA 90255 From $20 an hour - Part-time From $20 an hour - Part-time Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activity Coordinator to join our Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) program. In this vital role, you will design, organize, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively, inclusive environment that promotes social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of participants while working within a supportive team dedicated to exceptional senior care. Responsibilities Develop and implement diverse recreational programs that cater to the interests and abilities of participants, including memory care and dementia-specific activities. Lead engaging group activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, exercise classes, and social outings to encourage participation and enhance quality of life. Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and caregivers to assess individual needs and tailor activities accordingly. Assist with daily living activities (ADLs) when necessary to support participant independence and comfort. Manage activity schedules efficiently, ensuring timely setup, execution, and cleanup of all programs. Monitor participant engagement and provide encouragement to foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere. Maintain detailed records of activities conducted, participant participation levels, and any notable observations for reporting purposes. Requirements Must have a Certificate or willing to obtain . Strong background in senior care, geriatrics, or working with individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and long-term care practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with participants, families, and team members Experience in program development tailored for geriatric patients or those with cognitive impairments. Skilled in schedule management to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly throughout the day.
