Job Overview Join our vibrant summer team as a Day Camp Counselor and help create an unforgettable summer experience for children! At Seaborn Ranch Summer Day Camp, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, engaging, and enriching environment where campers can learn, grow, build friendships, and develop confidence through hands-on activities and outdoor adventures. This rewarding position is ideal for energetic, responsible, and positive individuals who are passionate about working with children and making a meaningful impact. Your enthusiasm and leadership will inspire campers to explore new interests, develop essential life skills, and create lasting memories throughout the summer. Responsibilities Lead and supervise groups of children during daily camp activities while ensuring their safety and well-being. Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities including sports, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, team-building exercises, games, and creative projects. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive camp environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, character development, and personal growth. Implement effective behavior management and classroom management strategies to promote respectful interactions and active participation. Support children with varying abilities and needs by adapting activities and providing appropriate assistance when necessary. Administer basic first aid and respond appropriately to minor injuries or health concerns following camp procedures. Assist with daily camp setup, cleanup, and organization of materials and equipment. Communicate professionally with camp leadership, fellow staff members, and parents regarding camper progress, behavior, and camp updates. Follow all camp policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Previous experience working with children in a camp, daycare, preschool, tutoring, babysitting, recreation, or educational setting is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain a positive attitude and high energy level in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of child development, behavior management, and group supervision is highly desirable. Experience working with children with special needs is a plus. Passion for creating meaningful and memorable experiences for children.
Requirements Candidates must:
Pass a criminal background check. Have or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification. Complete Mandated Reporter Training. Be available to work the full camp schedule.
