Summer Camp Coordinator Pacifica, CA $20

Temporary, Seasonal Job Overview:
Under the direction of the Site Supervisor, the Summer Program Coordinator plans, implements, supervises members and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship. Programs and activities must be organized, fun, meet the developmental needs of youth members and scheduled to ensure maximum participation. Programs must be inclusive, diverse, safe, and consistent with the organization's mission and vision while creating a fun and memorable camp experience.Duties:
Prepare Youth for Success Create an environment that facilitates the achievement ofYouth Development Outcomes:
- Plan, Promote and stimulate program participation
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members, volunteers & Youth Developers
- Ability to communicate youth growth and development in the program Program Development and Implementation
- Effectively plan and administer programs, services and activities for all members
- Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the clubhouse at all times.
- Ability to provide periodic reports on activities and programs
- Provide academic, health, and social/emotional support daily
- Provide programs that respond to member needs and address gender and cultural diversity.
- Ability to communicate needs of daily routine, program activities and youth Supervision
- Ensure a productive work environment by participating in all mandatory BGCNSMC meetings and trainings.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of all Club members
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility
Relationships Internal:
Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/ provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.External:
Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems & promote the Club's community presence.Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting
- Ability to educate and engage campers in various activities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with children
- Knowledge of youth development
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred but not required If you have a background in higher education teaching, education administration, or experience working with students, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position as a Summer Camp Coordinator with the Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County.
