Associate Director and Executive Director Position Summary:
The Full-Time Sports Coordinator is a grant-based position that is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of Pal's sports programming, with primary responsibility for the Redwood City After School Sports Program and secondary support for Pal Center youth and adult wellness programs, leagues, fitness activities, and sporting events. As a full-time role, this position ensures consistent day-to-day operations, high-quality program delivery, and alignment with Pal's mission, while supporting program growth, community engagement, and grant deliverables. 1. Afterschool Sports Operations and Partnerships Oversee and manage all aspects of the following programs: Clifford School (Primary Focus) Flag Football (Fall) Volleyball (Girls - Fall) Basketball (Winter) Outdoor Soccer (Spring) Responsibilities include: Serve as primary liaison with School staff, league representatives and partners Manage registration timelines, rosters, and enrollment processes Ensure compliance with league requirements and deadlines Conduct outreach to recruit participants and coaches Coordinate practice schedules, game schedules, and facility use Provide on-site support during practices and games as needed Manage parent and coach communication (e.g., SportsEngine or similar platform) Coordinate uniforms, equipment distribution, and program logistics Support planning and execution of game days, playoffs, and end-of-season events 2. Pal Center Community for Wellness Support Support Program Manager with the implementation and operations of Pal Center's health and wellness programs, including:
Youth Programs:
Futsal, Jr.
Giants, First Tee Golf Adult Wellness Programs:
Zumba, Yoga, Physical Wellness, Community as Medicine Programs under development like: NFL Flag, Soccer League, Basketball Responsibilities include: Assist with outreach and promotion of programs Support registration, team formation, and roster management Assist with pre-season logistics (orientation, scheduling, uniforms, waitlists) Provide game day and program support (including Saturday programming) Maintain participant data and program tracking systems Assist in piloting and implementing new sports programs Support instructor coordination and communication (as needed)
Qualifications:
Experience in sports programming, youth development, operations, or a related field Strong administrative and organizational skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets), data tracking, and document management Ability to manage multiple programs, timelines, and deadlines simultaneously Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with youth, families, coaches, and partners Experience working with diverse communities and a commitment to culturally responsive programming Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (experience with registration platforms such as SportsEngine is a plus) Ability to analyze and maintain program data for reporting and tracking purposes Bilingual in English & Spanish (spoken/written) Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and special events.

Ability to stand for extended periods during practices and events Ability to lift and transport sports equipment Ability to travel locally between program sites Special Requirements Must pass a Live Scan (provided by RCPD) Must pass the Diana Screen ( Risk Management questionnaire) Must have valid California Driver's License and insurance coverage Must have TB clearance (renewed every two years) Must be CPR certified (training can be provided) Must be Concussion Certified (training can be provided)
