Position Overview:
The Smoking Attendant role functions to assist in implementing Smoking Program to meet the needs of the residents who are smokers. The role performs activity-oriented tasks directed by the Environmental Services Director in accordance with the policies and procedures on smoking programs and housekeeping services. In addition to the essential functions outlined herein, the position is considered to be a direct resident care role and therefore the incumbent shall meet and fulfill all applicable requirements as outlined in California Code Regulations Title 22: Social Security Division 5: Health Facilities, as well as the Health and Safety Code for the State of California. Supports the philosophy, mission, commitment, vision, and values of the company Perform non-professional care duties and assist in maintaining a positive physical and respectful social interaction with the residents particularly the smokers. Maintain cleanliness, orderliness and safety of the facility especially in the smoking areas making sure the cigarette buds and ashes are dispensed properly in the right place. Assist residents with their smoking activities and needs. Ensure smoking residents & patients receive their proper materials needed for smoking. Ensure resident's safety; by closely monitoring their behavior and activity while smoking. Responsible for the safety of the smoking materials after usage by keeping it in a secured place. Other duties deemed necessary by the administration and activities department. Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out by the company's Code of Conduct, Policies and Procedures, Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, OSHA, Safety policies & procedures and applicable professional standards.
Qualifications:
Must be at least a high school graduate. At least 1-year experience working in health care is preferred.
