Job Description
Overview Kidwings Nature School is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and adventurous Outdoor Summer Camp Lead Counselor to join our summer team for the 2026 season. This part-time position is ideal for individuals who love working with children, enjoy spending time outdoors, and are passionate about nature-based education. Our camps take place in beautiful outdoor locations throughout San Diego and focus on exploration, creativity, connection, and hands-on learning in nature. We are looking for someone who can confidently lead groups of children, foster a safe and positive environment, and support meaningful outdoor experiences. This is a wonderful opportunity for educators, outdoor enthusiasts, childcare professionals, or students interested in childhood development, environmental education, or youth mentorship.

Rotating outdoor camp sites throughoutSan Diego County Environment:
100% Outdoor Nature-Based Program Responsibilities Supervise and engage children in daily outdoor camp activities while ensuring safety and inclusion Lead nature-based experiences, games, crafts, hikes, and group activities Support positive behavior using respectful and age-appropriate guidance techniques Foster a warm, encouraging, and community-centered environment Assist with daily camp routines, transitions, snack/lunch supervision, and outdoor setup Communicate effectively with staff and families regarding camper needs and experiences Maintain awareness of safety procedures and respond appropriately to minor incidents or emergencies Encourage teamwork, curiosity, creativity, and confidence in campers Adapt activities to support different ages, personalities, and developmental needs Help create a fun, engaging, and memorable summer experience for all children Qualifications & Experience Experience working with children is required (summer camps, teaching, nannying, tutoring, childcare, etc.) Fluent in both English and Spanish required Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills Ability to manage groups of children in outdoor environments Passion for nature-based learning and child-led exploration CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain) Background in education, outdoor recreation, childhood development, or related fields is highly valued Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Loves working with children Feels energized outdoors Is reliable, positive, and proactive Enjoys creativity, movement, and hands-on learning Can create a calm and nurturing environment while leading with confidence How to Apply Please send your resume and a brief introduction info@kidwingsnatureschool.comInstagram:
