Job Description
The Activities Assistant supports and aids the PACE Activity Coordinator and Recreational Therapist in delivering a comprehensive therapeutic recreation program for PACE participants, assisting with coordination of therapeutic and recreational activities for individuals and groups.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist in coordinating and implementing day‑center social programming and activities, communicating current events and PACE organizational information to participants in culturally and linguistically appropriate ways Assist in collecting participant feedback and observational data during activities and report these observations to the Recreational Therapy team for inclusion in interdisciplinary team (IDT) care planning Help implement the daily recreation program (group and individual activities) and assist with planning periodic community outings, classes, and special events Support coordination of volunteers and activity instructors Monitor the day room environment and assist in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and social space and mitigating risk factors (e.g., falls, wandering) during activities Document participant engagement, progress notes, and attendance in Epic Maintain inventory of activity supplies and assist with ordering items as directed Adhere to infection control, safety, and HIPAA compliance standards Utilizes Epic appropriately and efficiently and serves as content and workflow expert for resolving issues and proposing solutions in Epic. Performs other job duties as required by Manager/Supervisor Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Knowledge of social activities and programming tailored to older adults and frail populations Strong interpersonal and communication skills Current BLS and First Aid required Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or coursework in recreation, social services, or related field preferred. Minimum one year of experience working with a frail and/or older adult population Minimum one year experience in recreational/activity programs or working with older adults, dementia, or other special needs populations preferredLANGUAGE
Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English. Fluency in Chinese (Cantonese), Mandarin, and/or Vietnamese preferred. Fluency in other languages is an asset.STATUS:
