Summary About Earthplace Earthplace connects people with nature for life. Established in 1958, Earthplace has spent more than 70 years providing environmental education, nature-based learning, wildlife rehabilitation, and community science programs to the region. Through our accredited preschool, summer camps, nature education programs, animal care, and Harbor Watch water quality research, we offer hands-on experiences that build curiosity, environmental literacy, and a lifelong relationship with the natural world. With a dedicated team of more than 60 employees and an annual operating budget of approximately $3.5 million, Earthplace serves as a trusted community resource for families, educators, students, and conservation partners across Fairfield County and the broader region. Duties This counselor position will not be assigned to particular group. Camp counselors supervise campers, provide first aid as needed, organize activities for the campers throughout the day, actively participate in camper activities. Requirements available to work 10am-6pm able to work the ENTIRE SUMMER and the week of training Training Week is the week of June 1st
- this week the work hours will be roughly 8am-4pm Summer Camp runs June 8
- Aug 7th
- during camp the work hours are 10-6pm Experience working with children Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to bend, squat, and remain active throughout the day Ability to participate in outdoor activities in varying weather conditions Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations, including administering first aid and assisting in evacuations Must be at least 16 years old Nice To Haves CPR and First Aid certification Benefits Being outside on a great nature based property!
