Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Assistant to join our team. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents in an assisted living and memory care setting. If you have a passion for senior care and enjoy planning and organizing activities, we encourage you to apply.Duties:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of engaging activities for residents, including games, crafts, outings, and social events
- Encourage resident participation in activities to promote socialization and mental stimulation
- Provide one-on-one support to residents who may require assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Collaborate with the activity director and other staff members to create a dynamic activity calendar
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents during activities
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Genuine care and compassion for seniors
- Experience in assisted living or senior care preferred
- Knowledge of caregiving techniques and understanding of ADLs
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Experience in event planning is a plus
- Familiarity with memory care principles is an asset
