JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Job Title:

Youth Counselor Salary:

$15 Hours per week: 15-25

Overall Duty :

To facilitate age appropriate group and individual educational, recreational, cultural and social activities.

Strategies:

• Implement creative yet fun programs
• Assist members in developing skills through demonstrations and hands on instruction.
• Issue and oversee use of equipment and materials.
• Help maintain proper condition of equipment
• Provide continuous supervision of members at all times
• Serve as positive role model
• Responsible for weekly attendance sheets, lesson plans and any other documentation required by program policy.
• Follow program and work schedules.
• Assist in the enforcement of all program rules and regulations.
• Work closely with Center Supervisor and other staff to promote maximum program potential.
• Report any unusual occurrences of misconduct in any individual regardless of age.
• Take part in monthly program reviews, so as to make suggestions or recommendations for program development and improvement.
• Maintain clean workplace, and upkeep of equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Graduate and Some College.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.
• CPR/ First Aid Certification. (Or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Good record-keeping and organizational skills.
• DCF 40 hour mandatory Child Care training to include 10 hours of School Age appropriate practices within 90 days of hire.

Pay:

$15.00 per hour
