Camp Counselor

JOB Works under the direction of Parks & Recreation staff organizing Camp activities.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Supervises activities for children. Plans, organizes and implements daily recreational and art & crafts activities. Monitors the interpersonal relationships among campers and facilitates the resolution of conflicts that may arise. Maintains accident reports, disciplinary actions, daily reports and attendance records on campers. Responsible for the overall well-being and safety of campers.

The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required or assigned.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Ability to learn Village policies and procedures as well as location of various Village facilities. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to organize and implement recreational activities. Ability to work well with children of all ages. Ability to effectively interface with campers, supervisors, co-workers and the general public. Ability to comply with and accept directions from supervisors.

Ability to maintain calm and order in an emergency situation.
