Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Pet Camp Counselor and become a vital part of creating a safe, fun, and enriching environment for pets and their owners. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional pet care, ensuring animals are happy, healthy, and well-behaved during their stay. Your passion for animals and commitment to outstanding customer service will help foster trust and satisfaction among pet owners while promoting the well-being of every furry guest. Responsibilities Engage with dogs through positive reinforcement training techniques to promote good behavior and socialization. Handle animals safely using proper restraint and handling techniques to ensure their comfort and safety. Assist with pet grooming, including bathing, brushing, and basic hygiene care to maintain cleanliness and health. Monitor animals closely for signs of stress or illness, reporting any veterinary concerns promptly. Completing animal care tasks such as administering medications or assisting during check-ups. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and progress. Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist with animal transport or equipment setup, ensuring safety at all times. Qualifications Prior experience in dog training, animal handling, or kennel work is highly desirable. Knowledge of veterinary procedures or veterinary technician experience is a plus. Background in pet grooming, pet sitting, or animal care enhances your ability to excel in this role. Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or walking. Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and safe handling practices. Previous veterinary assistant or kennel experience is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
