Summer Camp Tennis Counselor USTA Florida - 1.0 Key Biscayne, FL Job Details Temporary | Part-time $17.25 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Childcare CPR Certification Occupational safety regulation compliance Outdoor work Sports coaching First aid English High school diploma or GED Driver's License Working with children First Aid Certification Curriculum implementation Equipment maintenance Passenger pickup and drop-off Entry level Camp Full Job Description Position Title Summer Camp Tennis Counselor Location Crandon Park Tennis Center Department Tennis Management Reports To Juan Rojas, Tennis Instructor Classification Seasonal Level/Grad 1 -- $17.25/hr Number of openings 6 Schedule 8am to 1pm M-F June 8 to July 31 Purpose of Position The Summer Camp Tennis Counselor provides a safe and memorable experience for our Tennis Campers, rain or shine. Miami-Dade County Teachers highly encouraged. High School Tennis Player also encouraged to apply. Bonus for working the entire camp. Essential Functions
  • Works under the direction of the tennis program instructor to oversee assigned activities, including transition to and from games, activities and instructions.
  • Responsible for check in and check out procedures, including proper pick-up and drop off contacts.
  • Adheres to all safety rules and compliance, reports any notable concerns, incidents and safety hazards to Tennis Instructor and Management.
  • Teaches basic tennis skills, implements curriculum by facilitating/instructing play and group activities for campers.
  • Facilitates indoor activities and instruction when courts not playable - maintaining a positive and active environment.
  • Mediates any conflicts that may arise between campers of assigned group per USTA Florida guidelines.
  • Oversee and maintain equipment, including set up and tear down.
  • Provides feedback on campers and program to Tennis Program Instructor.

  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED)
  • Experience working with children in an instructional setting - teachers highly preferred.
  • Basica experience with tennis.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and a record that meets our company's insurance standards
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to read and write English (bilingual preferred)
  • Must have a professional and positive attitude
  • Must be able to participate in potentially strenuous physical activity
  • Must be able to pass the USTA Safe Play and USTA FL Section background checks, and drug test. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Tennis experience preferred but not required
  • CPR and First Aid certification required (will train)
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to mediate conflict Work Environment
  • Seasonal work/bonus eligible for completion of entire camp
  • Works in and out of facilities - exposed to outside weather and conditions (heat/rain) Physical Demands
  • Frequently stands, walks, uses hands; talks and hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Occasionally sits.
