  • Temporary, Part-time, Contract Job Summary Join our vibrant summer camp team as a Summer Camp Counselor and ignite the spirit of adventure, learning, and fun in children of diverse ages.
In this dynamic role, you will create a safe, engaging environment where kids can explore new activities, develop essential skills, and build lasting friendships. Your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire young minds while fostering their growth through structured activities, creative play, and positive guidance. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact during the summer months while honing your leadership and childcare skills. Duties Lead and supervise children during camp activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities such as sports, arts and crafts, theater performances, and outdoor games Manage group behavior using effective behavior management techniques to promote cooperation and respect Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or health concerns Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance through tailored activities and compassionate supervision Collaborate with fellow counselors to create a positive camp atmosphere that encourages teamwork and inclusivity Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress or concerns Skills Strong classroom management abilities to maintain order and foster a respectful environment Knowledge of first aid procedures and child safety protocols Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or camp settings Familiarity with early childhood education principles and childhood development stages Ability to teach or tutor children in various subjects or skills as needed Background in special education or experience supporting children with diverse learning needs Skills in sports coaching, theater arts, babysitting, or Christian counseling are a plus for enriching camp activities Excellent communication skills for working effectively with children, parents, and team members Demonstrated ability to manage behavior positively and promote a supportive environment Embark on an inspiring summer journey where your energy fuels children's growth!
