Job Description

The Wellness & Recreation Center-Campus Recreation is currently seeking a Student Membership Desk Attendant Lead to join their team of professionals.
Duties to include:
Complete daily checks of all card readers and related pro shop electronic equipment. Maintain and keep track of inventory of all sales items throughout the duration of your shift. Reconcile and print out all sales reports from both Fusion and the credit card machine at the end of the business day. Manage and oversee all lost & found items for the facility. Transport all valuables to the Graham Center lost & found daily. Complete transactions of all sales items and memberships in pro shop area. Assign and manage all lockers that belong to Gold members. Assist with all equipment checkout items and ensure they are returned by the end of the business day. Answering phone calls to assist with patron inquiries and transferring calls to appropriate professional staff. Knowledge of facility bookings, fitness classes, personal training, special events, and all different membership types and their eligibility. Knowledge of operational policies and procedures. Assist with enforcing evacuation procedures in the event of any evacuations or emergency situations. Communicate any operations or personnel issues to appropriate professional staff if necessary. Always provide premiere customer service for all WRC patrons. Enforce all policies in regards to equipment checkout and sales. Complete all appropriate forms and documentation on connect2. At least 3 semesters of FIU work experience or related experience outside the University with satisfactory or higher from prior student appointment. Requires a letter of recommendation from one prior supervisor. Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days. Ability to work in a team setting. Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office Suites. Ability to take direction and work independently as needed. Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information. Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software programs, such as PantherSoft and Salesforce. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally, and in writing. Possess a high sense of responsibility and customer service skills. Ability to solve problems independently. Organizational and time-management skills. Maintain a current First Aid/CPR/AED certification upon being hired. Obtain merchant and PCI training certification in order to complete all Pro Shop transactions. Must have worked for the department for at least 2 consecutive semesters. Ability to attend mandatory departmental trainings and meetings. Student Assistant Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters. During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated. Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end. Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of department. Flexible schedule between 5:45AM-11:00PM. 20 hours a week. $15.00/Hour Criminal Background Check This student appointment may be subjected to a pre-employment background check.
