Job Description
Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to develop, organize, supervise and lead community recreation activities, athletics programs and/or facilities activities and beautification. Employees in this classification perform at the professional staff level and are responsible for organizing a safe recreational environment for community programs, youth activities and special events provided by the City. Employee works with independence and initiative within established policies and procedures. Groups worked with can be changed at the request of the Parks and Recreation Director or designee.
Days/Hours :
Monday - Friday , 8 AM to 5 PM; may include weekends, holidays, evenings, and rotating shifts. Directs, leads and schedules assigned departmental personnel; conducts in-service training and orientation for staff. Supervises the preparation, scheduling and supervision of various projects, programs, activities, and leagues to ensure the safety, general welfare, and enjoyment of the general public. Assists in the development, planning, organization, implementation and supervision of various community activities, athletics programs and special events. Surveys and evaluates policies and procedures related to field scheduling and implementing the sports policy. Performs routine administrative and accounting duties, e.g., reviews program statistical data, generates and submits reports and documentation; maintains accounts, verifies receipts and budgetary expenditures, payroll entry. Interacts and coordinates with numerous sports groups in relation to City. sponsored/recognized sports events throughout the year and any other non-City sponsored sports events involving all City athletic facilities. Assists with determining certain policies and procedures for the Parks and Recreation Division. Oversee the scheduling and work closely with soccer groups within the City of Coral Springs. High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of three (3) to four (4) years of responsible experience in an organized parks and recreation program with knowledge of various public parks and recreation programs and activities; or an equivalent combination of training and education. Advanced customer service skills including conflict management and negotiation skills. This position will require extensive knowledge of all levels of soccer. Experience utilizing RecTrac 3.1, Tyler Munis software, and Microsoft programs preferred. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations, and traffic signals when driving.Similar jobs in Pompano Beach, FL
