Job Description

The Membership Coordinator & Group Fitness Instructor plays an important role in creating a welcoming, engaging, and well-run experience at the St. Pete Raymond James Fitness Center. This position supports daily front desk operations, assists members, helps maintain a clean and organized facility, and contributes to fitness programming that encourages participation and community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcome members and provide a friendly, professional front desk experience Build rapport with members and help increase participation through encouragement, education, and engagement Monitor the fitness floor to promote safe equipment use and proper exercise technique Teach small group fitness classes Requires certification from a nationally recognized organization such as NASM, ACE, NSCA, or AFAA Support fitness center initiatives including wellness challenges, sports series, and firm-wide programs Register associates through membership software and help support member retention Promote personal training, onsite health clinics, and other wellness offerings Complete administrative tasks and maintain accurate records Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming fitness center environment Support the mission, values, and culture of Raymond James through a healthy living and service-minded approach Bring positive energy and professionalism to the team every day
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Strong knowledge of fitness, wellness, and exercise fundamentals Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively Comfortable using computers for email, internet, and basic administrative tasks CPR/First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire Must be at least 18 years old Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs Must be able to meet the physical, visual, and auditory demands of the role Optional instructor classes or personal training offerings with valid certifications: Nationally recognized organizations (NASM, ACE, NSCA, AFAA).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Recreation, Health Promotion, or a related field At least 1 year of related experience in fitness, wellness, customer service, or facility operations Experience teaching group fitness or wellness classes preferred Personal training experience is a plus
WORK HOURS
Part-Time Non-Exempt. Up to 10 hours/week. Variable schedule.
