Job Description:
Life Engagement Assistant The Life Engagement Assistant will provide support, leadership, and resources while actively serving residents through the six dimensions of life: social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, physical, and dignified personal care. Under the supervision of the Life Engagement Director, the Life Engagement Assistant will provide regular contact with residents through individual and group activities. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years, including one year full-time in an activities program in a health care setting.
Brief Description of Duties:
Assist the Life Engagement Director with inventory and ordering of recreation/engagement supplies. Maintain cleanliness and organization of supplies and activity areas. Help promote the physical appearance of the community by decorating for holidays, seasons, and special events. Document resident engagement and activity participation daily. Adapt activities to meet residents' needs, encouraging but never forcing participation. Offer small group or one-on-one activities when residents cannot or choose not to join large groups. Review each resident's medical and social history, as well as update resident preferences, likes, and dislikes, to determine appropriate activities. Activities must be tailored to residents' unique requirements and skills. Attend corporate compliance training and adhere to policies and procedures, including monthly staff trainings and bi-monthly conference calls. Communicate with the team regarding potential health concerns or changes in residents' physical or mental abilities. Assist with tours when management, marketing, or team leaders are unavailable. Assist residents with meals, snacks, and drinks throughout the day. Support residents with completion of self-care and/or occupational activities of daily living, as needed. Assist in the transfer and/or lifting of residents as needed.
