Job Summary:
We are seeking a creative, energetic, and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our team. This position plays a key role in engagement through a variety of daily activities, special events, and group activities. Candidates must be self-motivated, highly organized, and passionate about working with seniors.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the activities coordinator to organize and lead engaging daily activities for both assisted and independent living residents Create and distribute monthly activity calendars and community engagement platforms Coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, and themed parties Organize and supervise off-site group outings, including transporting residents safely using the community vehicle Encourage resident participation and adapt programs based on individual interests and needs Maintain accurate attendance records and feedback on participation Assist the activities coordinator to organize and lead engaging daily activities for both assisted and independent living residents Create and distribute monthly activity calendars and community engagement platforms Coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, and themed parties Organize and supervise off-site group outings, including transporting residents safely using the community vehicle Encourage resident participation and adapt programs based on individual interests and needs Maintain accurate attendance records and feedback on participation
Requirements:
Must be at least 25 years of age Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Previous experience as an Activities Assistant preferred Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Friendly and enthusiastic personality with a genuine compassion for seniors Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to the changing needs of the community Experience with Microsoft Office and Canva preferred College degree preferred Must pass a pre-employment physical, TB test, drug screening and background check Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the day Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and assist residents during activities and outings
