  • Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team in enhancing the lives of our residents through engaging, meaningful activities.
In this vital role, you will coordinate and facilitate a variety of recreational programs designed to promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help create a vibrant community environment where residents feel valued, supported, and inspired to participate actively in their daily lives. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact while working in a compassionate, team-oriented setting. Duties Assist in diverse recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, music therapy, games, and outings Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to incorporate therapeutic activities that support residents' physical and cognitive health Assist with the development of individual activity plans for residents with specific needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia care Foster social engagement by encouraging participation in group events and one-on-one interactions Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced and stimulating daily routine for all residents Monitor residents' responses to activities, providing feedback to the care team for ongoing adjustments Maintain accurate records of participation, resident preferences, and activity outcomes Requirements Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, and senior care best practices Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care environments is highly desirable Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly throughout the day Compassionate approach with understanding of aging issues counseling and social work principles Demonstrated ability to foster a positive environment that promotes socialization and emotional well-being Join us in creating joyful moments that enrich our residents' lives!
