Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Lead Sports Camp Counselor to join our dynamic team! In this vital leadership role, you will oversee daily camp activities, coach sports and recreational games, and foster a positive, inclusive environment for children of various ages. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will inspire young campers to develop new skills, build confidence, and enjoy a memorable summer experience. As a leader, you will coordinate with fellow staff members, ensure safety protocols are followed, and serve as a role model for teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun. Responsibilities Lead and supervise sports activities, games, and camp events to ensure engaging and safe experiences for all children Manage a team of junior counselors by providing guidance, support, and mentorship throughout the camp session Enforce safety rules and emergency procedures, including first aid response when necessary Foster an inclusive environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and positive behavior among campers Coordinate with program coordinators to plan daily schedules that incorporate physical activity, arts, crafts, and team-building exercises Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding camper progress or concerns Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure all camp policies are adhered to by staff and campers alike Skills Strong classroom management skills to organize activities and maintain discipline in a lively environment Experience in sports coaching or recreational leadership with children or youth populations Knowledge of first aid procedures and certification preferred to respond confidently in emergencies Background in early childhood education or special education helpful for accommodating diverse needs Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members effectively Ability to manage behavior management strategies that promote positive development and teamwork Passion for working with children in a camp setting with a focus on childhood development and fun Join us as a Lead Sports Camp Counselor where your energy fuels unforgettable summer adventures!
