Job Description

Nature and Scope:
Aurora Day Camp is more than just a camp. It is a place where children affected by cancer can just be kids. It is a creative, safe, healthy, supportive, fun-filled community where we celebrate each day. Too often, children affected by cancer live in a world of no. At Aurora, it's a world of yes! A medically supervised program, Aurora offers a host of 'high-low' activities suited to those feeling energetic, and others who need to take it easy. We create the safest environment possible that allow children to just be kids. What is special about Aurora is that it is 100% free of charge for children with cancer and their siblings, it's day camp model that allows children to sleep at home and in their own bed at night and its located just a few miles away from CHOA-Scottish Rite. A full 6 weeks of summer fun that provides an inclusive experience where every day stands on its own! Now in its 21st year, Sunrise Association Camps care for over 4,500 children annually and are affiliated with 50 hospitals around the world. Aurora Day Camp is truly a place where children with cancer find a new beginning every day. But until there is a cure, there is camp.
Position Purpose:
We are currently seeking a Bus Counselor for our routes serving the greater Newnan area. This role is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, creating a positive camp experience from the very start of the day, and being part of the Aurora community. What does a Bus Counselor do? Greets and supports campers during their morning and afternoon bus rides Helps create a safe, fun, and welcoming environment on the bus Assists with attendance and communication between camp and families Serves as a friendly and reliable presence for campers each day Camp is from June 8-July 17 in Dunwoody.
