Job Description

Overview Jackson Heights Christian Academy is a faith-based childcare center and school that takes educating children to heart. With over 20 years of experience, JHCA is looking to hire someone that is energetic, excited, enthusiastic, and creative. Working hours will vary on a weekly basis, however, the workweek includes Monday - Friday. Experience is a plus but not mandatory as training is provided. A resume must be included. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselors to join our team for an exciting summer camp experience. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children. You will be responsible for leading activities, providing guidance, and ensuring the well-being of campers while fostering their personal growth and development. Responsibilities Supervise and engage with campers in various activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment. Plan and implement age-appropriate games, sports, arts and crafts, and educational programs. Foster positive relationships with campers by providing support, encouragement, and mentorship. Maintain a clean and organized camp environment, including setting up and breaking down activity areas. Communicate effectively with parents regarding camper progress and any concerns. Collaborate with fellow counselors to create a cohesive team atmosphere. Administer first aid when necessary and ensure all health protocols are followed. Requirements Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, or childcare is preferred. Knowledge of first aid practices; certification is a plus. Skills in special education or behavior management are highly valued. A passion for working with children and helping them grow in a supportive environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds.
