Activity Assistant - Part-time Evergreen Estates III Residential Care Community Cedar Rapids, IA Job Details Part-time $14 - $15 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Working with geriatric patients Working with seniors Wellness activities for care recipients Geriatrics Full Job Description The activity assistant is accountable to the activity director of the facility. He/she is responsible for implementing social/recreational programs which meet individual resident needs and promote holistic care within limits set by physician. 1. Candidate is at least 18 years of age. 2. Has completed a physical examination and is free from communicable disease. 3. Is willing and able to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends. 1. Is able to make mature judgments and decisions. 2. Works well with staff, residents, and family members. 3. Enjoys and understands the geriatric resident and relates to him/her in a caring manner. 4. Is physically and mentally fit. 5. Is able to organize time will and motivate others to do assigned tasks. 6. Has knowledge of emergency policies/procedures. 1. Works on a part-time basis. 2. Encourages resident activity and participation in facility events. 3. Attends monthly inservice or staff meetings. 4. Maintains appropriate records of residents participation and programming needs. 5. Implements safe procedures in allowing residents to pursue leisure activities. 6. Confers with activity director in regard to department activity or specific problems.
