Monday-Friday, Day Shift Looking for a meaningful summer job where you can stay active, gain experience, and make a difference? The Arc of Southeast Iowa is hiring Teen Camp Counselors to support teens with disabilities in a fun, inclusive camp environment. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in education, social work, healthcare, recreation, or human services. Camp Dates & Schedule July 6
  • August 7, 2026 Monday
  • Friday Mondays:
    9:00 AM
  • 4:15/4:30 PM Tuesday
  • Friday:
    9:15 AM
  • 4:15/4:30 PM Responsibilities Lead and assist with daily camp activities, including games, crafts, swimming, community outings, and recreational activities Provide support to campers, including personal care as needed Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for teens with disabilities Use positive behavior supports and de-escalation techniques when needed Communicate any concerns or changes in camper needs to supervisors Assist campers in building social skills, independence, and community engagement Qualifications Must be 18 years or older Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (must be able to transport campers) Comfortable in and around water Ability to work as part of a team in an active environment Must complete required trainings (CPR, First Aid, Brain Injury, Mandatory Reporter Training•provided) Ability to attend required pre-camp training Why Work With Us Gain hands-on experience in a rewarding field Build skills in teamwork, communication, leadership, and disability services Work in a supportive and inclusive environment Make a positive impact in the lives of local teens with disabilities Opportunity for continued employment in fall programming Apply today to spend your summer making a difference!
