Activities Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our team in the evenings and every other weekend to help create vibrant, engaging experiences for our residents. In this role, you will coordinate and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to meet the diverse needs and interests of seniors, including those with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's and dementia. Your enthusiasm and dedication will foster a lively community environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Duties Engage in activity programs that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and health conditions, including memory care activities. Assist with coordinating special events, outings, and recreational therapies that promote social interaction and community involvement. Assist residents with participation in activities, providing encouragement and support to ensure an inclusive experience. Collaborate with care teams to integrate activities into individual care plans, especially for residents with disabilities or cognitive impairments. Manage activity schedules efficiently, ensuring timely setup, execution, and cleanup of events. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity feedback to assess program effectiveness. Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages socialization, emotional well-being, and aging issues counseling when needed. Requirements Prior experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or in long-term care environments is desired. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care strategies, and senior care best practices. Strong communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate with team members. Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in enhancing the quality of life for older adults through creative programming.
