The Iowa Veterans Home is hiring a full time Resident Aide, Smoke Room Monitor. Hours for this position are 8:30 a.m
m. Wednesday-Saturday. This Resident Aide position will act as a primary smoke room monitor covering the smoke room approximately 6 of the 10 hours of a shift.
Smoke room:
Will be responsible for providing secondary smoke room monitor coverage up to 3 hours a day. Will provide a safe and supervised setting for residents to smoke and follow safety plan for each individual resident and smoke room.
Activities:
Will provide 1:1 intervention with residents per resident preference to meet resident's social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual needs. Will provide informal small group activities (games, discussion, trivia, music, entertainment, arts/crafts etc.) Will communicate frequently with Activities Assistant weekly regarding plans for activities to implement in person, on phone or email. Will provide set-up as needed and will disassemble equipment as activity is completed. What we offer as a full time Iowa Veterans Home employee:
