Summary
The purpose of this position is to create an opportunity for student staff to gain practical work experience while overseeing Youth and Family programs and personnel.

Essential Functions
General understanding of the operation of the entire facility. Knowledge of all policies and procedures including but not limited to the student employee manual and resource guide.
Liaison between professional staff and student employees.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relations and rapport with youth and families in the community.
Serves as the first contact person when problems arise within areas of oversight (no shows, facility issues, etc.)
Fulfill scheduled office hours.
Oversee various aspects of Upward Basketball, birthday party rentals, and youth camps/clinics.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive rapport with patrons and coworkers.
Help plan, manage, train and schedule staff for Youth and Family programs. Represent functional unit on Office of Recreation Student Employee Board (SEB).
Conduct staff meetings and assist with training staff.
Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication.
Demonstrate ability to work well in a team.
Demonstrate ability to enforce rules and regulations.
Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Office of Recreation Student Employee Manual.
Promote and support the mission of the Office of Recreation.
Work in conjunction with the Customer Service and Facility Supervisors, occasionally filling in for them if needed.
Retain confidential material.
Represent Professional Staff in her/his absence.
May be required to work special events outside regular operating hours.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
All qualifications required by SRC Center Managers.
Proven superior level of interpersonal skills.
Be able to work independently and timely with given responsibilities.
Certified in CPR, First Aid, AED.
Additional Information
Must maintain American Red Cross CPR/AED with First Aid certification or American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent.
