Adult Program Director - CU Special Recreation Champaign Park District - Part-Time 1, Non-Exempt (hours not to exceed 29 hours per week on average) About the
Job:
Make a meaningful impact by leading engaging and inclusive programs for adults with disabilities. As the Adult Program Director, you'll plan and facilitate a variety of recreational activities—from sports and fitness to arts and community outings—while creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment where participants can thrive. This role is perfect for someone who is compassionate, organized, and motivated to lead both participants and staff.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Plan and lead inclusive recreational programs, including sports, arts, social events, and community outings Supervise and support participants with varying abilities, ensuring safety and engagement Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to support staff and volunteers Develop weekly lesson plans and prepare program materials and spaces Communicate effectively with participants, families, and program staff regarding progress and needs Implement behavior management strategies and follow all risk management procedures Assist with personal care, mobility support, and daily living needs as required Coordinate logistics for programs, including supplies, transportation, and field trips (including overnight trips) Maintain accurate documentation and program records Ensure compliance with all safety policies, training requirements, and Park District procedures Why Work With Us?
