Job Description

Fitness Attendant Open Position at Sage YMCA! Salary range starts at $20.00 per hour. The Sage YMCA in Crystal Lake is hiring for a part time Fitness Attendant to join the YMCA team. This integral position on the Fitness Team could be your first step to a building a career in fitness, or the next step in your fitness journey. As a Fitness Attendant - You will: Develop, motivate and maintain professional relationships with members by providing personal attention to all members and guests using a proactive approach Be an active marketing resource by discussing and promoting the YMCA fitness programs with our members Provide basic assistance and guidance to users of the fitness equipment when needed, as you acknowledge all members throughout the facilities Ensure a safe environment through constant circulation of the fitness facilities and promptly responding to safety and emergency situations Support the YMCA's mission and center operations To be Qualified you must have: A high school diploma or GED The ability to Lift/Carry up to 50 lbs. and push >50 lbs. A passion for and obtain general knowledge of preventative health and fitness programs and philosophy Current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or must obtain within thirty days of employment Child Abuse Prevention Support the YMCA's commitment to child abuse prevention by: Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor Completing all child abuse prevention training, as required Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
