Summary Description:
Under general supervision of the Director and Recreation Supervisor of Parks and Recreation, performs a variety of duties in support of the Village's Parks and Recreation Department. The ideal candidate for the Parks and Recreation Seasonal Part-Time Day Camp Counselor will support the mission of the Parks and Recreation Department and have the primary responsibility to ensure that all persons have a safe and enjoyable experience while visiting or using the Village of Monee Parks and Recreation facilities.Key Responsibilities:
the Day Camp Counselor is responsible for the safety and supervision of the Day Camp participants and staff. Day Camp Counselors will plan, implement and execute daily activities and games. They will also be required to provide daily feedback to the Supervisor, Coordinator and parents and/or guardians. Counselors are responsible for ensuring the delivery of a fun experience in a safe environment. Must be available for training days at the end of May and Meet the Counselor Days. Camp starts June 9, 2026. Day Campers will range in age from 3 years old -12 years old. Representative Duties The following duties are typical for this classification, incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices. Include, but are not limited to: 1. Supervise and ensure the safety of all participants at all times. This includes ensuring participants are properly hydrated, playing in areas that are free of hazards, etc. 2. Leads and participates in activities, games, and experiences with all participants. 3. Track attendance and perform headcounts of participants throughout the day. 4. Maintain a positive relationship with staff, peers, participants, parents, vendors, and volunteers. 5. Demonstrates confidentiality of participant and agency information. 6. Demonstrates the capacity to make sound decisions and effectively communicate with participants, parents, vendors, volunteers, and other staff members. 7. Responsible for any equipment and materials used. 8. Responsible for following and enforcing all guidelines of Village of Monee and the Parks and Recreation Department. 9. Responsible for cleaning activity areas during and at the conclusion of programming. 10. Prepare and submit incident reports, attendance reports, and any other required paperwork daily. 11. Interact with parents/guardians during drop-off and pick-up times. 12. Communicate any behavioral or disciplinary problems to the attention of the Superintendent. 13. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or skills to be learned with a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties. Ability to interact with others including the public in a reasonable and courteous manner. Ability to work within a chain of command. Ability to demonstrate personal discipline qualities to perform required work. Organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently or as a team Possession of good safety awareness and judgment in all aspects of the position and wear provided safetyequipment as required. Ability to communicate effectively. Must be honest, trustworthy and reliable. Comfortable performing physical tasks and standing for extended periods. Ability to resolve differences and problems that may arise with patrons. Previous Parks and Recreation experience a plus. Education and/or Other Requirements Must have a HS Diploma or equivalent. Must be a minimum of 18 years old Valid Driver's License or State ID. Must have prior experience in working with children. Must have and/or obtain valid First Aid, CPR, and AED by first day of camp. Preferred Experience/Qualifications Prior experience working with youth.Physical Demands:

Training Orientation and on-site training as needed will be provided. Hours of Employment Seasonal Part -Time Non Exempt. Hours may vary based on Park and Recreation Programming.Starting Pay:
