Job Description
Job Overview Join our vibrant summer team as a Kids Camp Counselor, where your enthusiasm and dedication will create a fun, safe, and enriching environment for children. In this role, you will lead engaging activities, foster positive behavior, and support children's developmental needs through dynamic programming. Your energy and compassion will inspire young campers to explore, learn, and grow while ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the camp experience. Duties Facilitate a variety of age-appropriate activities including arts and crafts, sports, theater, and outdoor games to promote creativity and physical activity. Manage behavior using positive reinforcement techniques to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment. Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety of all children during activities, transitions, and free play. Support children with special needs or behavioral challenges by implementing individualized strategies in collaboration with camp staff. Administer basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress, concerns, or achievements. Assist in planning and executing themed events or camp outings that enhance the overall camper experience. Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies to support diverse needs. Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not already held. Background in early childhood education, special education, or related fields is a plus. Demonstrated ability to manage groups of children effectively while maintaining a lively and positive atmosphere. Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, or Christian counseling can enhance your ability to engage campers creatively and spiritually.
