We are seeking a compassionate and organized Activity Assistant to join our team at Silvis Center Rehab and Care. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of our residents by creating engaging and meaningful experiences. Responsibilities:
Plan and implement various activities, including games, arts, and crafts, to promote socialization and mental stimulation among residents Assist with event planning and execution, such as parties, outings, and performances Develop and maintain relationships with residents, ensuring their needs and preferences are met Collaborate with other team members to create a welcoming and engaging environment Monitor and report on activity participation and resident feedback to inform future programs Maintain accurate records and reports related to activities and resident engagement
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., recreation therapy, gerontology) preferred 0 years of experience in an activity or recreation setting; experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities a plus Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, push/pull carts up to 50 pounds, and stand/walk for extended periods Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software and systems
