Responsibilities The Whitley County Family YMCA is seeking Day Camp Counselors to work the Summer 2026 Day Camp Season who are enthusiastic, energetic, and compassionate with a strong desire to positively impact the lives of young children. Day Camp Counselors lead fun and enriching activities for school-age children participating in summer day camp at Whitley County Family YMCA.

Actively engage with and provide quality care for program participants in order to deliver a quality childcare experience.

Lead:

Good communication, accounting, and organizational skills. Requirements Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as: Minimum of 16 years of age Reliable transportation to and from work. Two years of related work experience with youth supervision is preferred. Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly. Ability to work well with youth, parents, community leaders, staff, volunteers, and YMCA members. Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary:

Part-time $14.00-$14.50 hourly

Hours Available:

Monday-Friday, 12:00pm-6:00pm & 8:45am-4:00pm from June 1, 2026 -August 8, 2026 (Must be able to attend Mandatory Training May 15th & May16th)
