Job Description

Job Summary Join our vibrant summer team as a Camp Counselor, where your energy and enthusiasm will inspire and nurture children in a dynamic outdoor and indoor environment. As a key leader, you will create a safe, engaging, and fun atmosphere that promotes growth, learning, and friendship. Your role is vital in delivering memorable summer experiences through active supervision, creative activities, and compassionate support. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact while developing your leadership and childcare skills. Responsibilities Supervise children during camp activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Lead engaging recreational activities such as sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor games that foster teamwork and creativity Manage group behavior with effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive environment Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance through individualized attention and accommodations Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan daily schedules that include educational, recreational, and spiritual activities aligned with camp goals Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress and concerns in a professional manner Qualifications Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, babysitting, tutoring, or camp programs is preferred Knowledge of classroom management, behavior management strategies, and childhood development principles Certifications in first aid and CPR are highly desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of diverse backgrounds Ability to lead activities confidently while maintaining safety standards Background in early childhood education or special education is a plus Enthusiastic team player committed to creating an inclusive and supportive camp environment Embark on a rewarding summer adventure where your dedication helps shape joyful memories for children!
