Job Description
Job Summary Join our vibrant summer camp team as a Summer Camp Counselor, where your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire children to explore, learn, and grow through engaging activities and positive mentorship. In this dynamic role, you will create a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for kids of various ages, fostering their development while ensuring their well-being throughout the summer. Your energy and leadership will help make each day memorable and impactful for our campers! Duties Supervise and engage children in a variety of camp activities including sports, arts, theater, and outdoor adventures. Maintain a safe environment by enforcing camp rules and practicing proper safety protocols, including first aid when necessary. Facilitate positive behavior management strategies to promote respectful interactions and teamwork among campers. Assist with planning and executing daily schedules, ensuring activities are inclusive and age-appropriate. Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance through tailored activities and compassionate care. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns that arise during camp sessions. Collaborate with fellow counselors to create an energetic, welcoming atmosphere that encourages fun, learning, and personal growth. Skills Strong classroom management skills to guide children effectively while maintaining a lively and organized environment. Knowledge of first aid procedures to respond confidently to minor injuries or emergencies. Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, or early childhood education. Ability to adapt activities for children with special education needs or behavioral challenges. Excellent communication skills for engaging with kids, parents, and team members clearly and positively. Passion for working with children and fostering childhood development through creative play and educational activities. Background in sports coaching, theater arts, babysitting, or Christian counseling is a plus to enhance camp programming.
