Summer Museum Activities Assistant

20 hours/week In person; Appropriate for someone enrolled in college or high school. June 1 to August 10, 2026 Primary Job Responsibilities Assist in conducting programs for children PreK-6th grades either in Summer Science Camp, or hands-on STEM activities in the exhibits. Create a safe and engaging atmosphere for students. Conduct appropriate behavior management of students. Hours available for weekdays and Saturdays. Required Experience Must be over 16 years of age. Experience working with and supervising students PreK-6th grades preferred. Interest in science, math, and /or engineering is a plus. Skills Must possess a warm, friendly, positive attitude with plenty of energy. Must have a proficient understanding of basic science principles. Must be able to work with children PreK-6th grades and adults of different ethnic and social backgrounds. Must be able to think on your feet and adjust to unexpected occurrences in a timely and professional manner. Must conduct themself in a professional and respectful manner around parents, students, and staff. Must display patience and professionalism when working with youth, co-workers, and parents. Receptive and active participant in training offered by the museum. An interest and love for STEM either in academics or in hobbies. Able to list 30 pounds

Pay:

$10.00 - $12.00 per hour
