Part-Time Early Morning Fitness Specialist

Who We Are Looking For:

The Fitness Specialist is under the direct supervision of the Fitness Coordinator. The Derby Recreation (DRC) is seeking a dependable, motivated, and customer focused Early Morning Fitness Specialist to join our fitness team. Essential Job Functions (listing most important first): Supervises fitness center participants. Is familiar with and able to communicate details of DRC fitness classes and programs. Assists fitness center patrons to properly use equipment. Ensures that facilities and equipment are properly maintained. Ensures fitness center customers are signed in and tracks attendance. Carry out all duties assigned by the Fitness Coordinator and Fitness Director relating to the fitness center. Carry out all duties as assigned by supervisor. Attend all training and workshops assigned by Fitness Coordinator and Fitness Director.

Essential Job Requirements:

EDUCATION

High School diploma preferred. Some knowledge of basic fitness is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Some experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to bend and reach to maintain center equipment and launder items. Must be able to move and place weights in their proper locations. Must be able to see well enough to monitor physical well-being of center patrons. Should be able to demonstrate equipment for participants and administer Adult CPR.

Qualifications :

Should have proper knowledge of cardio and weight training equipment. Experience with youth and older adults preferred. She/he should be energetic and proficient in the promotion of a progressive program. Must be 18 and have a valid driver's license. Should maintain certification in

CPR, FIRST

AID and AED. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
