DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to organize, develop and supervise specialty recreation programs and activities for Lexington residents 60 years and older.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in recreation, therapeutic recreation, exercise physiology, health science, art, psychology, education, or another related field Two (2) years of related experience Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops, implements, and supervises program and/or facility activities and events Coordinates art, recreation, and educational classes, and/or Teaches group fitness classes Coordinates efforts to improve programs through program evaluation, community outreach and marketing Recruits, trains, supervises and evaluates the work of subordinates, volunteers and contractors Oversees program and facility budgeting, finances and purchasing Performs administrative duties related to goals, objectives and performance including but not limited to scheduling, data entry, reporting, and maintaining inventory of supplies Enforces rules and regulations of recreational facilities to maintain compliance and ensure safety Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment. Valid driver's license CPR, First Aid and AED Certifications must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work weekends and evenings, holidays, perform on-call duty and split shifts when required to best serve the public in offering recreational opportunities. All positions require drug testing, criminal records check, Central Abuse Registry check, Nurse Aide Abuse Registry check and APS Caregiver Misconduct Registry check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
