Activities assistants help to create a stimulating and fulfilling environment for residents through recreational activities and programs, promoting socialization, entertainment, and overall well-being. Plan, conduct and organize daily programs for Residents, including intervention for room bound Residents Develop a plan on care based on each Resident assessment with measurable goals and appropriate intervention or approaches. Accurately document Resident attendance to groups in the designated notebook. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of activities for which the assistant is responsible and as necessary and modify the activity to meet the Resident's needs and interests. Transport Residents to and from activities and regularly request the assistance from nursing that is needed. Assist with the posting of posters, calendars and pertinent Activity information on the designated Activity Boards. Under the supervision of the Activity Director, purchase supplies as needed. Attend any meeting as directed by the Activity Director. Train and supervise volunteers assigned to activities. Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care. Applies "5 Star" customer service approach in all aspects of job. Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct. Reports to the appropriate managers any known or suspected violations of policy and procedures, regulations or standards of conduct. Attends required in-services and training. Performs additional duties as assigned. High School Graduate preferred Two years' experience in a social or recreation program in a long term care setting within the last five years, one of which was full-time in a Resident Activities program. Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
