Camp Full Job Description Position Summary:
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Billerica is seeking an Assistant Summer Camp Director to help design and implement our 7-week day camp. We are seeking a mature, energetic, creative, and experienced person to serve as a key member of our leadership team during the pre-camp and camp season. The ideal candidate will have experience with running camps, camp administration, staff management, and Board of Health Camp Regulations. Must be able to commit to the full summer camp season, ability to commit to pre- and post-camp responsibilities is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Develop and coordinate camp programs and activities for a safe, engaging, high quality summer program. Provide operational and programmatic support as necessary. Support the daily operations of camp and act as lead staff on all field trips. Collaborate with Childcare Director for hiring and training, and orientation of all summer staff. Assure that Health Department Guidelines are met in accordance with DPH regulations. Oversee the follow-through of any correspondence necessary related to camp functions and activities, i.e. summer staff contracts, permits, camp planning committees, etc. Report any missing documentation to Childcare Director for support, as needed. Support member behavior, crisis management and discipline related to campers and/or staff in partnership with Childcare Director and Senior Site Director. Provides excellent and timely communication with the parents of campers regarding accident/incident reports, member discipline, camp communication, etc. Help develop and implement daily schedules including: special events and rainy-day schedules. Assist with inventory, supply ordering and equipment management. Report any ordering needs to appropriate staff in a timely manner. Provide supervision, training and evaluation to all camp staff. Maintain a positive team atmosphere for campers, families, camp staff and volunteers. Assist in the evaluation of the camp, as well as the camp experience for youth participants.

Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Work Demands) 2-3 years of experience working in Summer Camp. Camp Management experience preferred. High school diploma required; BA/BS preferred. Must be 21 years old. Direct experience working with children/youth, providing a wide range of developmentally appropriate programs and activities; experience in program/activity development and implementation preferred. Knowledge of youth development principles. CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Minimum one-year supervisory experience. Ability to be flexible. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds. Ability to participate in active games and outdoor activities. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license required.
Pay:
