  • 18 hours, Monday-Wednesday 10AM-4PM Competitive Wages + Benefits including FREE Parking Position Summary The Recreation Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating recreational and leisure programs designed to meet the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents within the skilled nursing facility.
Responsibilities include conducting resident interviews and assessments, developing and implementing activity programs, maintaining recreation documentation, participating in interdisciplinary care planning, coordinating community outings and volunteer activities, and supporting resident quality of life initiatives. The position functions as a key member of the Recreation Department and works collaboratively with nursing, social services, rehabilitation, and other departments to support resident-centered care. Qualifications Possess the skills and experience required to perform each of the primary responsibilities of the job description.
Educational Requirements:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, some college education and training from an accredited dietetic training program preferred.
Experience:
Experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred.
