About Us Roots Summer Camp is a dynamic, activity-based program focused on providing children with a safe, engaging, and fun summer experience. We offer a high-energy environment where campers can explore, create, and build friendships through structured activities, outdoor play, enrichment programs, and themed weekly events. Position Overview We are seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and caring Summer Camp Counselors to join our team. Counselors play a key role in supervising and engaging children in daily activities while ensuring a safe and positive environment. Responsibilities Supervise and actively engage with campers during all activities Lead and participate in games, crafts, outdoor play, and themed programming Maintain safety and supervision at all times in accordance with EEC guidelines Support behavior management using positive guidance strategies Assist with daily routines including transitions, snack, and group organization Communicate effectively with coworkers and leadership staff Create a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment for all children Qualifications Experience working with children in a camp, school, daycare, or similar setting preferred Must be dependable, energetic, and a strong team player Ability to actively participate in physical activities outdoors Strong communication and problem-solving skills Must meet Massachusetts background check requirements CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) What We Offer Fun and supportive team environment Hands-on experience working with children Opportunity to build leadership skills Consistent weekday schedule during summer season
